Best Off-Road eBikes!

Some people like gentle trail riding, others like the challenge a double black diamond can offer. The ebikes below are based on our experience riding moderate trails.

Magicycle Deer

Our experience is with the Magicycle Deer 1.0 20" tire. The Deer also comes in a 26" tire and has now been upgraded to a 2.0 version. I loved the Deer 20" so I made it my everyday rider for almost a year. It has a strong 750w motor with 96nm of torque. Plus the added benefit of a rear suspension makes it a great trail riding ebike. The 20ah battery assured you the distance. Version 1.0 had a cadence sensor, but version 2.0 now has a dual switchable sensor.

Mokwheel Obsidian

We have owned 3 models from Mokwheel but the Obsidian we liked the best. The frame is sleek and smooth and does not show weld joints. The 1000w motor is very powerful and the 8 speed finger shifter makes it a comfortable ride with no ghost pedaling. Its one of the best riding ebikes we have tested on or off road.

Engwe Engine Pro

The Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 was a nice surprise. The quality of this ebike was impressive with some upgraded components to include a torque sensor and 8 speed gear set. No Ghost pedaling with this ebike. Engwe gave this bike a 4 bar rear suspension which makes it an awesome trail bike at a great price. Since I have owned it I have taken it trail riding many times and it has held up with no issues.

Lectric Xpeak 2.0

We purchased the Xpeak 1.0 version when it was first announced. Unfortunately we had a few problems with it. However after working through them, the bike performed GREAT. We loved the finger shifter, 8 speed torque sensor. The front forks are what gives this ebike the eMTB rating it earned. The new Xpeak 2.0 review will be coming soon.
